What Are Our New Wins In 2024?

One of the significant objectives for the Singapore office in 2024 is to establish a presence in the Middle East market.

Fortunately, we received a request for quotation (RFQ) from a customer in the UAE in early July of this year. This RFQ pertains to two sets of touch modules that will be bonded to a customized cover glass (Gorilla Glass preferred), such that we will need to provide OEM assembly services to supply this touchscreen module.

This development has generated considerable enthusiasm among the team at KANOU, as the project is intended for luxury yachts, representing a new market segment for our company. Most importantly, this initiative will serve as a crucial entry point into the Middle East market.

However, the process has not been straightforward, as our customer is still in the preliminary design phase and has only provided a rough sketch.

We conducted numerous meetings, during which we not only presented proposals related to our expertise in cover glass and touch modules but also collaborated with our customer to ensure that the overall assembly for the yacht is designed for optimal ergonomics, facilitating easy repair and servicing.

And especially for the luxury market, the materials & processes used must provide the premium feeling i.e. Gorilla Corning Glass, Anti-fingerprint coating (AF), Japanese quality ink for silkscreen printing.

Premium but at a tightly controlled cost level, this is one challenge given to us by our customer.

After two months of proposing solutions, implementing design modifications, and engaging in rigorous price negotiations, we ultimately secured the nomination to commence the sample production.

Our achievements in 2024 include not only our entry into the Middle East market but also our expansion into the luxury yacht segment.
